One of the primary ways the Central Texas Conference responds to disasters is via our Early Response Team (ERT). Our CTC ERTs respond to disasters within the conference, as well as to help other areas facing disasters. The mission of an Early Response Team is to provide a caring presence in the aftermath of a disaster, under very specific guidelines that enables a team to be productive and caring while causing no further harm or being a burden to the affected community.

**MinistrySafe is the official abuse prevention system for all churches in the Central Texas Conference (CTC). ALL Early Response Team Members are now required to be compliant with MinistrySafe. Please contact your local church in order to complete the on-line training and screening process which includes background check, application, interview and reference checks. These steps MUST be completed BEFORE your training class and the MinistrySafe Compliance Form verifying that all steps have been completed MUST be completed by your church and returned to Joy Dister Dominguez. before you attend the training. In addition, UMCOR now requires an independent background check thru Verified Volunteers. UMCOR ERT badges will not be processed until this background check is completed at https://tinyurl.com/umcorvv. There is no charge for this background check. Please remember that even though youth and children are not on your team the homes you are working on may have children or youth at that location. Let us be good stewards of caring for God’s people!
